Earn Points and enjoy deferred payment on top-ups
When the remaining value of your Octopus is insufficient, your Citi Credit Card account will automatically reload HK$250/ HK$500 to your Octopus, allowing you to earn Points and redeem your favorite rewards items faster. All Octopus automatic add value transactions will also be listed clearly on your Credit Card monthly statement and you can also enjoy an interest-free payment period until the statement due date.
Upon successful activation of Citi Octopus Credit Cards or application of Octopus AAVS, please follow one of the instructions below to activate the AAVS function:

Octopus Automatic Add Value Service AAVS Embedded
When your Octopus balance is running low, HK$250*/ HK$500 will be automatically reloaded to your card. It's simple to use and you'll even earn Octopus Cash by topping up your balance.
For existing Citi Credit Cardholders:
If you would like to change your Octopus AAVS auto-reload amount, you can now:
Instantly upgrade the auto-reload amount to HK$500 through Octopus App^; or
Complete the application form and submit it online for our processing
*Effective from July 22, 2018, a HK$500 Octopus AAVS auto reload amount will be automatically assigned to all new Citi Octopus Credit Cardholders.
^Only applicable to compatible Near Field Communication (NFC)-enabled mobile device.
There is no application fee for first-time applicants for the AAVS. Where an Octopus already has or used to have AAVS linked to it, there is a non-refundable handling fee of HK$20 charged by Octopus Cards Limited for transferring the AAVS from one financial institution to another, or reactivation of AAVS following suspension or cancellation. Such fee(s) will be charged to the new AAVS Account.
There is no application fee for auto-reload amount change application.
Each Citi Primary Credit Cardholders (except Citi Octopus Credit Cardholders) are allowed to apply for AAVS to be linked to or auto-reload amount changes for his/her own Octopus and a maximum of three Octopus belonging to your family member, friends or relatives who aged 12 or above.
Application for auto-reload amount change is only applicable to Citi Octopus Credit Cardholders and Citi Credit Card customers who have successfully applied for AAVS; Customers will also need to activate the current AAVS and current auto-reload amount before submitting the application form, otherwise the Bank will not be able to process the application.
The AAVS application process will take two to three weeks.
You should call CitiPhone Banking at +852 28600333 immediately to report the loss of your Citi Credit Card and request for a replacement card. No AAVS cancellation is needed if you do not lose your Octopus. The new replacement card shall automatically become the new AAVS account of your existing Octopus. However, if you lose your Octopus linked with AAVS, you shall report such a loss to Octopus Cards Limited immediately by calling the Lost Octopus Reporting Hotline at +852 22662266. If your Octopus or the Octopus of relevant Octopus Holder is reported loss, this lost Octopus service will protect the AAVS Account Holder and/or the Octopus Holder from the loss of the remaining value and any value added through AAVS on such Octopus 3 hours after successful loss report.

7. I am a Citi Octopus Credit Cardholder, do I need to apply for AAVS and how can I apply for auto-reload amount change?
All Citi Octopus Credit Cards are embedded with AAVS, no separate application is needed. If you would like to apply for auto-reload amount change, you may apply via the Instant Upgrade service on Octopus App with an compatible NFC-enabled mobile device or download and submit your application form via Citibank website. Citi Octopus Credit Cardholders and Citi Credit Card customers who have successfully applied for AAVS are eligible for Instant Upgrade on Octopus App, and you may upgrade your auto-reload amount to HK$500 on Octopus app with an compatible NFC-enabled mobile device. - First-time applicants of the Automatic Add Value Service will enjoy HK$20 fee waiver. Applicants switching banks or restarting Automatic Add Value Service are required to pay Octopus Cards Limited a HK$20 non-refundable service charge, which will be charged to the designated Credit Card account.
- Octopus will be reloaded if the remaining value on the card is zero or negative balance, or when the remaining value plus the maximum negative value is insufficient to settle the full cost of transaction. Each Octopus can only be automatically reloaded with HK$250/ HK$500 once a day.
- Citibank (Hong Kong) Limited and Octopus Cards Limited reserve the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice.
- All matters and disputes will be subject to the final decision of Citibank (Hong Kong) Limited and Octopus Cards Limited.
