Daily transfer limits can protect you from scams. If you make a payment that exceeds the relevant limit, the transaction will be automatically blocked. You can change your daily limits for various types of payments via Citi Mobile® App or branches.

  1. 1. Domestic payment networks include but not limited to Faster Payment System (FPS) and Clearing House Automated Transfer System (CHATS). Transfers to Citibank, N.A. (bank code 006) are processed via domestic payment networks.
  2. 2. The maximum amount for each payment is HKD 999,999.
  3. 3. The daily limit for small value transfers is applicable to local payees, overseas payees, bill payments, FPS transfers and Citi Scan and Pay (including FPS x PromptPay QR Payment).

Please note that the daily transfer limits set out above are not applicable to payments initiated via branches or the CitiPhone Banking Hotline. Starting from October 30, 2023, the CitiPhone Banking Hotline no longer supports manual fund transfers with transaction amounts at or below HK$ 1 million. Please submit payment instructions via Citi Mobile® App or Citibank Online.

You may change the daily transfer limits via Citi Mobile® App according to your personal needs by following these steps.

  1. 1. Sign in to Citi Mobile® App and go to “Services” via the icon at the top right corner of the screen.
  2. 2. Scroll down to the "PAYMENTS & TRANSFERS" section and tap "Daily Transfer Limits".
  3. 3. Tap the limit you wish to change and follow the onscreen instructions to update the limit.

  • If you are a new client who is in the first 20 days of account opening, a Citi NextGen Account holder (including the “Parental Protection” function used by parents) or a CitiBusiness® client, or you hold designated types of accounts (including but not limited to power of attorney), please visit the Form Center on our website and submit the Increase Daily Transfer Limit Request Form / Decrease Daily Transfer Limit Request Form.

  1. The maximum daily transfer limit is HK$1,000,000 and is subject to the available balance of your account.
  2. CGT and fund transfers to other overseas bank accounts (Telegraphic Transfers) via Citi Mobile® App and Citibank Online share the same daily transfer limit.
  3. The daily transfer limit is HK$1,000,000 and is subject to the available balance of your account. To lower the limit, please fill in and submit the relevant form). To increase the limit (HK$ 1,000,000 at maximum), please visit our branches for assistance.
  4. The minimum outward remittance limit per transaction via Citibank Online and Mobile in Hong Kong is HK$500 and the maximum is US$99,999 (approximately HK$780,000). Some countries may impose an incoming fund limit.
  5. The incoming CGT fund limit per transaction in Hong Kong is US$99,999. Please note that some home country or region may set an outward remittance limit.
