In order to deliver secure yet convenient services, we have introduced a daily limit for fund transfers to registered accounts and for bill payments to merchants made through our automated banking channels (i.e. Citibank Online, Citibank Mobile, Automated CitiPhone Banking and ATM services).

How many types of daily fund transfer limit are there?

There are three types of daily limits for fund transfers via automated banking channels (i.e. Citibank Online, Citibank Mobile, ATM service and Automated CitiPhone Banking):
- Limit on transfers to registered account via local inter-bank fund transfer or third party’s local Citibank account
- Limit on transfer to registered account via Citibank Global Transfer or Telegraphic Transfer (TT)
- Non-registered account transfer limit
Does the daily transfer limit apply to all types of transfers including transfers between my own Citibank accounts?

The daily transfer limit does not apply to the transfers between your own local Citibank accounts. This applies to transfers to registered accounts via local inter-bank funds transfer, Citibank Global Transfer, telegraphic transfer and the transfer to registered third party’s Citibank accounts through automated banking channels (i.e. Citibank Online, Citi Mobile, ATMs and Automated CitiPhone Banking).
Does the daily transfer limit apply to transactions handled by Citibank branch officers or CitiPhone Banking officers?

No. The calculation of the daily transfer limit does not apply to the transfers handled at Citibank branches or by CitiPhone Banking officers. This only applies to the transfers or the bill payments made through the automated banking (i.e. Citibank Online, Citi Mobile, ATMs and Automated CitiPhone Banking).
Can I transfer money to a non-registered account and is there any daily limit?

Fund transfers to non-registered Citibank accounts can only be done at a Citibank ATM. The maximum amount you can transfer per day is the daily default limit (i.e. HK$50,000) or the amount you have previously adjusted. Also, fund transfer/bill payment to non-registered accounts can be done at Citibank Online/Citi Mobile. The maximum amount you can transfer per day is the daily default limit (i.e. HK$10,000) or the amount you have previously adjusted.
Is the daily transfer limit or bill payment limit applied on a per-customer basis?

Yes. The daily transfer limit or bill payment limit is applied on a per-customer basis, regardless of the number of accounts held by you at Citibank. Thus, the maximum amount per day that you can transfer for each type of transfer stated in Q1 will be the daily default limit or the amount you have ever adjusted before. The maximum amount per day that you can make the payment to merchants (except tax payment) will be the daily default limit or the amount you have previously adjusted.
How can I check my daily transfer limit or bill payment limit?

The daily transfer limit will be preset as the default value as long as no adjustment was made by a client before. You can check your daily transfer limit or bill payment by calling our hotline.

The maximum daily transfer limit is HK$1,000,000 and is subject to the available balance of your account.
CGT and fund transfers to other overseas bank accounts (Telegraphic Transfers) via Citi Mobile® App and Citibank Online share the same daily transfer limit.
The daily transfer limit is HK$1,000,000 and is subject to the available balance of your account. To lower the limit, please fill in and submit the relevant form). To increase the limit (HK$ 1,000,000 at maximum), please visit our branches for assistance.
The minimum outward remittance limit per transaction via Citibank Online and Mobile in Hong Kong is HK$500 and the maximum is US$99,999 (approximately HK$780,000). Some countries may impose an incoming fund limit.
The incoming CGT fund limit per transaction in Hong Kong is US$99,999. Please note that some home country or region may set an outward remittance limit.
