Time Deposit

Time Deposits allow you to enjoy higher returns within a fixed period of time. With Citibank Online, you can flexibly set up or renew your time deposits with different options:

  • Set up time deposits from a wide range of currencies with different tenors
  • Modify your deposit maturity instructions for the following options:
    • Renew both principal and interest for the preset or a new tenor
    • Renew principal for the preset or a new tenor
    • Transfer interest to the same currency call deposit or a specified account
    • Transfer both principal and interest to the same currency call deposit or a specified account
  • Get a reminder whenever your time deposit matures within 2 weeks

Step 2:
Click on "My Accounts" and then select "Customer Service"
Step 3:
Click on "Open a Time Deposit" or "Change Time Deposit Maturity Option"
Step 4:
Setup or renew time deposit at your preference.

As part of an industry wide launch of e-Cheque services in Hong Kong in December 2015, a new e-Cheque deposit service is available to you.

What is e-Cheque?

  • E-Cheque is an electronic counterpart of the paper cheque. It is a PDF document showing all essential information such as cheque date, payee’s name and cheque amounts etc.
  • This service provides an efficient and convenient alternative for bank customers to receive payments.
  • It provides enhanced security features and saves the need for physical delivery and physical presentment. Payment with e-Cheques will become faster, easier and entirely paperless.

How to deposit an e-Cheque?

Clients can deposit the e-Cheque through the Hong Kong Interbank Clearing Limited (HKICL) e-Check Portal Drop-box service which is available at:
