How to enable Touch ID Sensor

Please note that you need to register your fingerprint in your iPhone Settings* before you can enable the "Touch ID Sensor" feature of the Citi Mobile® App.


  • STEP 1

    • After login, click the top left button and select Setting > Manage Touch ID Sensor.
  • STEP 2

    • Tick the checkbox after reading and accepting the terms and conditions
  • STEP 3

    • Enter the One Time Password (OTP) which will be sent to you via SMS.

How to enable Citi Mobile® Snapshot


  • STEP 1

    • After login, click the top left button and select Setting > Manage Citi Mobile® Snapshot.
  • STEP 2

    • Tick both "Remember my User ID" and Enable Citi Mobile Snapshot checkboxes
  • STEP 3

    • Enter the One Time Password (OTP) which will be sent to you via SMS.
    • * If you log on via fingerprint, this password refers to online banking password.

Touch ID Sensor is a feature that enables login authentication based on fingerprints stored on your Apple iPhone device. It is an alternative login mechanism to Citi's User ID and Password.

This feature is available on Apple Mobile Phone Models 5s and newer. Android devices are not supported currently.

Leveraged on Apple's Touch ID technology, your fingerprint images are not stored by Touch ID as they are stored as a mathematical representation. The chip in your device has an advanced security architecture: Secure Enclave, to protect your passcode and fingerprint data.

Once you enable Touch ID Sensor as a login method for your Citi Mobile® App, an encrypted token is created. No login information is stored on the Citi Mobile® App.

Enrollment in the Touch ID Sensor for the Citi Mobile® App is valid for 90 days. If you have not logged into the Citi Mobile® App by manually entering the password, the Touch ID Sensor will be disabled for the Citi Mobile® App. You have to re-enable it following the same required steps for security purposes.

You can follow a few simple steps to re-enable the Touch ID Sensor.

When you enable Touch ID log on, any fingerprint stored on your device can be used to log on to Citi Mobile app. For security reasons, we recommend that you do not register third party finger prints in your device. This is to protect not just your Citibank account but the rest of your personal details in your device.

If your mobile device is lost or stolen, please contact our Citiphone officers at (852) 2860 0333 to suspend your online / mobile banking service; and your mobile service provider to suspend your SIM card and request a new one with the original mobile number.

After you get a new SIM card, you can contact our Citiphone officers to re-enable the online / mobile banking service. We strongly recommend you to change your password in Citibank Online for security reasons.

Yes, you can disable the "Touch ID Sensor" feature at any time. Go to "Settings" in Citi Mobile® App, select "Manage Touch ID Sensor" and then tap "Disable".

No, the Touch ID Sensor will not work if you change your service provider in the overseas country.

Changing the mobile number will not disable the Touch ID Sensor, as long as the service provider remains the same.

Your Touch ID Sensor may have been turned off for any one of the following reasons:

  • You have changed your service provider
  • You have recently changed you User ID or Password
  • You have not logged into your Citi Mobile® App by entering your password for the past 90 days
  • You have changed your SIM card
  • Your online account is locked because you have exceeded the maximum number of password attempts
  • You have entered the wrong OTP 3 times when signing in
  • You have enabled the Touch ID Sensor for your account on a different device
  • Your Citibank User ID is deleted from our system

The Citi Mobile® Snapshot (The "Snapshot") is a new opt-in feature of the Citi Mobile® app. Customers have to enable this feature with an Online Authentication Code. Every 15 days, the "Snapshot" feature will be disabled and customers have to re-enable it following the same required steps for safety purposes if they have not logged in the app for 15 days.

The "Snapshot" feature only enables you to view your checking, savings and credit card accounts balances and most recent five transactions of each account. The account numbers are masked to ensure privacy. To get more account details or to make a transaction, you are still required to input your user ID and password for login authorization.

For your personal data protection, we encourage you to set up a passcode for your mobile device and change the passcode on a regular basis. Please note you can disable this feature at any time in Settings of the app.

You can follow a few simple steps to reactivate the Snapshot functions.

Simply log on to your Citi Mobile® App and go to "Settings" (located at the top of the navigation menu). Tap on "Manage Citi Mobile® Snapshot" and just follow the disable steps required.

Within 15 days upon activating this feature, you can view your checking, savings and credit card accounts balances and the five most recent transactions of each account without entering your user ID and password every time.

To get more account details or to make a transaction, you will need to log in to the Citi Mobile® App.

You can update the existing Citi Mobile® App from the App Store or Google Play.

One-Time Password (OTP) acts as an user authentication tool that provides enhanced security to minimize the chance of unauthorized use of your account. OTP will be sent to your registered mobile phone via SMS.

The original functions will be maintained and new features such as the stock watchlist and enhanced market information will be provided. Also, the new platform will be even more user-friendly with an intuitive and simplified design.

You can transfer funds to your own Citibank account or perform the Local Inter-bank Funds Transfer*.

* Local Inter-bank Funds Transfer refers to transfer via Clearing House Automated Transfer System - CHATS.
