Please follow the below steps to transfer funds in HKD or CNY with a mobile number/ email address/ FPS identifier via the Citi Mobile App.
You can transfer funds of up to HK$10,0003 (or equivalent) daily without adding the recipient as a payee in advance. To transfer funds of above such an amount4, simply add the recipient as a registered account directly via the app. Click here to learn how to add a new payee.

Useful Tips |
- To transfer funds to your payee with a mobile number/ email address, you do not need to register. However, your payee must register that mobile number/ email address with the FPS service first to link an account to receive funds.
- Fund transfers are subject to a daily transfer limit. Click here to find out more.
- If you do not wish to make a transfer to any non-registered payee, please complete and submit the form to decrease the daily transfer limit to HK$0 for all non-registered accounts.
- If you wish to receive funds from other local banks:
- Simply link your mobile number/email address to your Citi account via FPS Addressing Service; or
- You can set up a transfer instruction using the Bank Code (250), Branch Code (390)* in addition to your account name and account number.
* For Citibank N.A. customers, please use Branch Code = 790

- Handling fees may apply to overseas transfers via telegraphic transfer, for details please refer to Citibank Fees & Charges. You can choose to deduct the charges from your Citibank account in addition to your transferred amount or from the transferred amount sent to the beneficiary.

- You can pay the following designated merchants with a credit card account directly via Citi Mobile App without having to add them as a new payees. Designated merchants categories include: Government or Statutory Organization , Tax, Business Registration or Stamp Duty, Public Utility, Kindergarten, Primary or Secondary Education and Post-secondary or Specialized Education.
- If you would like to pay other merchants or pay via Citibank Online, simply add the merchant as a new payee.

Security measures |
To provide you comprehensive security protection when you set up an Autopay instruction (eDDA) to debit a Citibank account for payment, the following authentication processes are required. All eDDA will not be effective until it has been successfully authenticated.
- Set up an eDDA via our Citi Mobile App or Citibank Online: Before submitting the eDDA instruction, you are required to enter Citi Mobile Token Unlock Code (set up via Citi Mobile App) or perform transaction signing (set up via Citibank Online).
- Set up an eDDA via a Stored Value Facility (SVF) operator's or another bank's platform: We will send you an SMS notification, requesting you to log on to the Citi Mobile App or Citibank Online to confirm the eDDA. This eDDA will be automatically cancelled if it is not confirmed within 5 days.
To transfer funds from other banks to your Citibank account, you need to provide the information below to the sending bank:
Transfer from other local banks

- Your bank account number (8-digits)
Note: Some banks may only ask you to provide bank code and account number. The “account number” they refer to is the combination of branch code and your bank account number (i.e. 390XXXXXXXX).

Remarks:
- Limited to receiving banks that support instant transfer functionality
- FX conversion at prevailing exchange rate will be conducted without further notice if the transfer currency and the receiving account’s currency are different.
- Citibank will not levy any handling fee. An Interbank fund transfer service fee may be applied by your receiving bank to the transferred amount. Please contact the receiving bank for enquiry.
- Applicable to handling fees incurred by Citibank (HK) Ltd only. For incoming fund transfers from overseas Citibank branches, please refer to each originating country's fees and charges.
- The maximum daily limit for transfer to non-registered account via Citibank Online or Citi Mobile App is HK$10,000 (default amount) or your pre-set daily limit, whichever is lower.
- The maximum daily limit for transfer to registered third party or other local bank accounts via Citibank Online or Citi Mobile App is HK$1,000,000 (default amount) or your pre-set daily limit whichever is lower.
- Cut-off time for same day processing is Monday to Friday 4:30 pm. Transaction made after the cut-off time, or on Saturday, Sunday and Public Holiday will be processed on the next business day.
